Amelia Grace arrived at 8:33am on March 22nd! She weighted 8lbs 1oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. We are sooooo excited to have her here with us! After 4 miscarriages, and so much grief, there is finally some joyful closure!! Last night was pretty bad. I had mild-moderate contractions all night long, about 5-7 minutes apart. I was basically up all night with cat naps here and there. I feel really drained today, so I hope sleep will come for me tonight. I had my appointment this morning, and I am 25% effaced, 1cm dilated and she is still high, high, high. I feel so great today. I only had to get up once in the night to use the bathroom, and if I had any contractions, I sure didn't notice them! I can't explain how great it feels to be rested!! I was just feeling "off".......menstrual cramping and hard contractions that were sporadic. Lots of pelvic discomfort too. I called the clinic around 3:30, and Tim told me to go on into L&D so they could monitor the baby too. So, with all 3 kiddos, I loaded up and went on to the hospital. Unreal. I still have the bronchitis! I have been using an albuterol inhaler daily now. Dr. T thinks I have asthma. It is productive in the morning, then just dry, hacking all day. The inhaler helps make it more productive, but I hate having to use it. I just don't like putting all the meds in my body. Better that than getting pneumonia though. I had a routine appointment scheduled on Thursday, so at the beginning of the week Bill and I had a pow-wow and made some concrete plans about the birth. It was high, firm and closed, so those were not effective contractions, thank God. He agreed with the afternoon rest and to keep hydrated. I have not had another episode of ctx since the 7th. They have slacked off considerably, and are just like normal Braxton Hicks now. I am drinking so much these days, I slosh when I walk. I have been having bouts of Braxton Hicks contractions that are pretty intense.....some very worrisome. Water and rest seem to help after a few hours. I always have BH with my pregnancies, usually they start around 18 weeks, but never this much. Maybe the difference is having 3 kids and staying busy. We traveled to Galveston early Thursday morning and spent the day with Nana, great-grandpa and all the cousins, aunts and uncles. Lots of great food to eat...fried Cajun Turkey, baked Turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green beans, rolls, salad, carrot cake, chocolate pecan pie, cheese cake etc etc............I ate myself silly. I think it had been coming on since last week. I had one day of chills and a feverish feeling, with a scratchy throat, then 3 days of a constant headache, then Tuesday morning the vomiting and diarrhea hit. By 2p.m. I was down for the count with muscle aches and major weakness. Today is the first day that I feel somewhat normal. My boys dressed up as Ninja's, and were so excited. We had a party after school for all the kids at a friends house....the kids ate mummy wrapped sausage, pinwheels, witches brew, homemade candy apples and an assortment of other treats.
